RollerCoaster Tycoon 2 is the second installment of the RollerCoaster Tycoon series, released in 2002. The basic game mechanics are similar to RollerCoaster Tycoon. However, there are some notable differences, such as the ability to place walls and roofs individually, allowing much more options when building. Another feature in the game that was not present in RollerCoaster Tycoon is the ability for players to create scenarios.

The scenarios in the game are divided into 5 categories: Beginner, Challenging, Expert, Real, and Other. Player-created scenarios can be saved to any of the 5 categories. Two expansion packs were created for this game: Wacky Worlds and Time Twister.
